LISBON - Portuguese Association implus of Security organizes lunch-debate on Rehabilitation in Fire Safety on March 25, between 12.30 and 14.30 at the Hotel Tivoli Oriente, in the Park of Nations. This initiative, implus part of the cycle Debates 2014 - 360 Security, discusses the difficulties in applying the Legal System for Fire Safety of existing buildings.
The need for this debate comes at a time perspective that the construction activity in Portugal, in the coming years will focus on the rehabilitation of existing buildings. Given the characteristics of existing buildings, which present security conditions distinct fire the current legal framework (Decree-Law n. 220/2008), security professionals are faced with difficulties implus in applying the existing legal framework.

The debate will start with a presentation by guest speaker António Coelho Leca, Principal Investigator at LNEC (National Laboratory for Civil Engineering), about the various hypotheses of evolution of the current legal framework, notably in safety engineering and risk analysis in order to to meet the reality of the existing buildings. After this exposure, all participants will be invited to speak and share their experiences implus and views on rehabilitation in fire safety.
